Zhongshan Art Park

Introduction The Zhongshan Art Park is located beside the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The compound has many outdoor sculptures, lawns, gardens, lakes, a gallery area, and a blue pyramid. The spacious park and art works displayed in the park allow the public to immerse themselves in this artistic environment.

Scenic Spot Chenyueji Historic Estate
Introduction Built in 1807 and called the "Teacher's Residence," this was home to the Qing dynasty scholar ChenWei-ying. The carvings of dragons, lions, and other auspicious animals adorning the flagpole in front of the house reveal the esteem in which scholars were once held.

Confucius Temple
Scenic Spot Confucius Temple
Introduction The Taipei Confucius Temple was built in 1879. This magnificent temple built in honor of Confucius and other Confucian sages is in a southern Chinese style. A solemn ceremony is held every year on Sept. 28 to commemorate Confucius' birthday, expressing the ultimate respect for his great teachings.

Scenic Spot Baoan Temple
Introduction The Baoan Temple in Dalongdong is made up of three main halls. The pair of stone lions guarding the entrance seem to welcome visitors into the temple. Because divinations performed at the Baoan Temple are said to be especially efficacious, the temple is commonly thronged with believers.

Scenic Spot Linantai Historic Estate
Introduction The Linantai Historic Estate, located on the northern edge of Xinsheng Park, is a superb example of traditional Fukienese architecture. The main hall with wings on either side is low at the front and rises toward the back. As a result, the house is airy, but can fend off cold winter winds. Floors within the compound are paved with lovely red stones, while windowsills in the gate chamber are decorated with exquisite carvings. Traditional architecture of this high order is hard to find nowadays.

Xinsheng Park
Scenic Spot Xinsheng Park
Introduction Xinsheng Park occupies roughly 20 hectares of land bordered by Minzu E. Rd., Binjiang St., and the Jianguo Elevated Highway. Large sculptures by prominent artists give the park an artistic atmosphere. Other facilities include a reading room, a health trail, a baseball field, and basketball courts. Opened in April 2001, the garden maze is a favorite with kids. This park offers local residents a much appreciated recreational space.

Dajia Riverside Park
Scenic Spot Dajia Riverside Park
Introduction After the straightening of the Jilong River, a 12km-long bank was developed into a riverside park. This greenbelt provides recreational opportunities for both the local community and the whole city. This park's distinguishing feature is a fan-shaped fountain that shoots water 25 stories into the air.

Dahu Park
Scenic Spot Dahu Park
Introduction Dahu Park is located on the eastern side of the Neihu Basin, facing Mt. Wuzhi and Mt. Zhongyong. Once an isolated mountain lake, the area is a favorite nesting place for wild birds. To attract sightseers to Neihu, pavilions, bridges, and gardens have been built by the lake. Waterfowl are often seen here in the early morning, while roosting white egrets and flying dragonflies are common. Besides being a nice spot to take pictures, this park also attracts many birdwatchers.
